CLASSICAL BALLET - CECCHETTI

Cecchetti Classical Ballet
Primary to Advanced classes 6+ years.

The Cecchetti Method of ballet is a style of classical, theatrical dance based on the teachings of the great Italian ballet master Enrico Cecchetti.  His teachings maintained the balances and proportions of the human body, poised and in movement.

The Cecchetti science of classroom practice exacted a coordination of arms, legs, and head, which produced a wonderful fluidity of movement, particularly in the upper body.  Most importantly the solid Cecchetti base enabled the dancer to embrace any choreographic style.

This method of training maintains and teaches: discipline, strength, coordination (whole body), beauty of Lines, control, balance, headpositions/ movement, and musicality/performance.

Enrio Cecchetti's own teaching was geared to professional dancers. As a build up to the full Cecchetti Method, the Cecchetti Society has evolved a series of graded syllabi and examinations to meet the needs of children at both pre-vocational and recreational levels, as well as those of the vocational student. These have now been expanded to include Performance Awards to encourage this aspect of the children's work. There are also qualifying examinations for teachers, granting Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship status of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

Dancers training in the Ballet programs will have the opportunity to train for Cecchetti Examinations (Grades,Standards and Majors Exams)
